Shuffling into the blogosphere…

I’ve finally taken the decision to launch this blog – Beckmesser’s Quill – primarily to gather my reviews from various outlets, but also to add a few editorial thoughts on the music scene. You’ll find links to my concert and opera reviews for Bachtrack, as well as reviews of CDs and DVDs. This blog also offers shelter to my writing for Opera Britannia, otherwise floating around, lost (temporarily?) somewhere in the ether.

Over the coming months, expect to see links to new Bachtrack reviews, plus a gradual upload of historic OB ones.

The photograph in the header, incidentally, depicts Maurice Decléry as Beckmesser in a 1907 production of Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. I trust I’ll be a little less grumpy…
